Flying through our week and we finally saw NYC in the sunshine on Day Three. It was a hectic, but fabulous day.
Breakfast was a long awaited rainbow bagel from Liberty Bagels. I’d been waiting to try one of these since uni times, where friends had had them during a trip and they just looked incredible. It was an excellent start to the morning and was so delicious.
Today involved much walking, so my ootd required comfort. We started off walking The High Line from one end to the other. It was a really nice activity, it feels like you’ve escaped the city noise for a bit. But also, it gives such a good perspective to look over the buildings and streets as you stroll.
Once we reached the end of The High Line, we were aiming for the Friends building but thought we needed a little coffee and I’d saved the Magnolia Bakery as a good spot to get a coffee and something sweet. The bakery was adorable and it was delicious. It was really nice to just sit down and take things in for a few minutes. The neighbourhood we were in, was much calmer with just houses and small park/seated areas which was a real contrast. Sometimes you need to just sit and soak it all in!

Perked up by our coffee and snack, we strolled on to find the Friends building before heading on to Little Italy and China Town. There were loads of food spots to try out in both areas and if we hadn’t such a strict itinerary, it would have been lovely to sit in a random restaurant and relax. We managed to get a quick snack of gelato and it was possibly the best pistachio ice cream I’ve ever had.
There is also an incredible Christmas shop in Little Italy as well. It was amazing, all the decorations, all the Christmas craziness you could possibly want. We had to get one, and of course got it personalised!
We found ourselves stumbling into a Bloomingdales in SoHo after our explore around Little Italy and I made a small purchase that my 16 year old self would be so happy with! It was such a full circle moment for me!
Purchases made, we had to make a quick trip back to the hotel for an OOTD change ready for our evening.
Hard Rock Cafe for dins – obviously touristy and of course, slightly overrated but we had to do it. It felt right, Times Square dins called for the most touristy food spot. Plus our hostess was lovely, the food was tasty and completed the whole experience by getting a Hard Rock t-shirt.
The final activity of the day was seeing CHICAGO on Broadway. I cannot describe in words how excited we were but also, how exciting it is to see a show on Broadway. If this is not top of your list, or maybe not even on your itinerary, please re think about it. It’s just got to be done!

This bought our day to the end, we’d ticked loads of the to do list, the sunshine appeared and cleared the clouds and of course, Chicago was incredible.
Hope you’ve found these day summaries helpful – let me know below what you think!
